“When we were dating we went on a lot of walks. He was a forestry major and knew the names of all the trees and he tried to teach me…so we had a lot of laughs.” -Mrs. Mary Nash

“It has grown stronger and sweeter. We are still in love with each other. I can’t see life any other way. We are best friends. We feel like we are in the best time of our lives right now.” -Him and Her

“Get to know one another. Be honest. It takes time. Be truthful with one another. Our faith was so important–the bedrock of our relationship. We used guides to know how to pray together.” -Her

Advice to young couples…

“Understand the meaning of commitment. People are so influenced by ‘the world,’ but ‘the world’ has never been right about anything.” -Him

“Always tithe. God always provided for us, even when we couldn’t see the end of the tunnel. We’ve always had a roof over our heads and food on the table.” -Him

“Money can cause so many problems, but the best economics book in the world is the Bible.” -Him

“When you feel you have ‘arrived’ is when you are going to go astray.” -Him

In August, Mr. and Mrs. Nash celebrated 60 years of marriage! I am also very thankful to have this lively couple in my life. He travels the country speaking about his book and finances. She dresses beautifully, has the kindest heart, and laughs when she runs into bushes with her new bike. For Christmas, they got each other these bikes and ride around on them regularly! Adorable, no? I sure hope that is me when I am their age!
